Procedure

1. Access the GEARS website.
   The Login page appears.
2. Select Register Here.
3. Select the appropriate account (either Agent of a Reporter or Reporter) to create.
4. Enter valid entries into the required fields:
   • Correspondence Code (included in the correspondence received from SWRCB)-This field appears if you are a Reporter.
   • Username (email),
   • Password,
   • Confirm Password,
   • First name,
   • Last name, and
   • Phone number,
5. Select Register and OK after reading the Validation email notification.
6. Access the validation email received from SWRCB:
   • Press Click Here to automatically confirm email and log into your account home page, or
   • Copy/paste the Click Here URL into a new browser window.
7. If you are an Agent, skip to step 10. If you are a Reporter, answer the Well Ownership question and continue to step 8.
8. Read the Welcome to GEARS message for review of the three conditions requiring extraction reporting.
9. Select Home icon to retrieve the dashboard.
10. If you are an Agent, Select Manage Contact Information. If you are a Reporter, Select +Account Management > Change Contact Information to update contact details.
    This system provides entry fields for account contact details and defaults initial fields upon registration details.
11. Enter valid entries into the supplied account contact data entry fields.
    • UserName - Defaults to supplied username upon registration.
    • Company
    • Owner Type - This field appears if you are a Reporter.
    • First Name - Defaults to supplied first name upon registration.
    • Last Name - Defaults to supplied last name upon registration.
    • Address street number
    • Address street name
    • Address apt/suite
    • Address City
    • Address State
    • Address Zip
    • Email Address - Defaults to the supplied email upon registration.
    • Phone Number - Defaults to the supplied phone number upon registration.
12. Select Submit to save entries to your contact information.
    If entries are successful, your contact information will be saved to your account.
